The American Medical Writers Association (AMWA) is seeking an experienced Manager of Education. The Manager supports the creation, implementation, evaluation, and improvement of AMWA’s educational programs and events, including online learning activities, certificate programs, conferences, and training workshops. Reporting to the Director of Education, the Manager participates in education strategy discussions and is responsible for translating identified strategies into relevant and timely programs.
The Manager collaborates with internal teams and external stakeholders to support administrative functions related to educational programs, assist with in-person and online events, and ensure that multiple projects are effectively prioritized. In fulfilling these responsibilities, the Manager will be interacting daily with AMWA technology and systems, including AMS, CMS, LMS, Formsite, Pheedloop, Articulate (Rise 360), Excel, and Survey Monkey.
The ideal candidate has demonstrated experience in creating educational courses or experiences, developing conference programs, analyzing data for decision-making, and improving the learner/attendee experience for an association or similar organization. Qualifications & Skills
Associate or bachelor’s degree.
5 years of relevant experience supporting educational programs for an association or similar organization.
Proven success in implementing educational activities and programs.
Ability to manage projects and short-term tasks simultaneously, and work with multiple and competing deadlines.
Effective communication skills, both oral and written, and the ability to represent AMWA with a high degree of professionalism.
Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook as well as Survey Monkey and Google Docs.
Competency working with association and content management systems (AMS), registration software programs, website content management (CMS), and Learning Management Systems (LMS). Proficiency with databases, data entry and pulling reports.
Ability to take initiative and solve problems.
Adaptability and flexibility with the ability to work well in both a team environment and independently.
Experience in a professional, medical, or scientific association preferred.
Knowledge of medical communication topics preferred.
Ability to travel to the annual conference and occasionally to other events.
