Who We Are
At IALD, we are not just an organization; we are a worldwide family of lighting design professionals dedicated to excellence. With over 1500 individual members and 80 manufacturer members in 60 countries, we are a diverse and vibrant community working towards setting the global standard for lighting design. As a Membership Manager, you will be a key player in our journey to make a positive impact worldwide.
Your Role
As the Membership Manager, you will report to our CEO and take charge of the operational and strategic success of IALD's membership base, including corporate manufacturer members. This role is all about building relationships, managing volunteers, and driving the association's mission forward. Your responsibilities will include:
- Serving as the main point of contact for membership inquiries and applications.
- Crafting and executing membership acquisition and retention strategies.
- Collaborating with the CEO and the Board to enhance our international value proposition.
- Acting as a liaison between the membership department and legal representation, Marketing + Communications, and other teams.
- Managing volunteer committees, including scheduling, agenda creation, and follow-up actions.
- Representing IALD at conferences, tradeshows, and events to foster in-person relationships.
- Working with the Marketing team to create and review membership communications.
- Creating reports for the Board of Directors.
- Moderating website community forums and overseeing database management.
- Nurturing relationships with allied professions and industry stakeholders.
- Managing finance admin tasks related to membership dues payments and coordinating projects efficiently.
About You
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and an excellent communicator with experience in AMS/CRM systems, specifically iMIS. Your ability to work with technology efficiently and manage multiple projects will be crucial as we grow. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work and can demonstrate:
- 5-7 years of experience in association management or related fields, with international association experience as a plus.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- Strong project management abilities and a knack for efficient workload management.
- Self-starter mentality and the ability to take ownership of programs and services.
- Outstanding interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Creative problem-solving abilities.
- An understanding or sensitivity to graphic and architectural design.
- Proficiency in online meeting platforms, iMIS, MS Office, Asana, and a willingness to learn new software.
- A team player's attitude ready to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience is preferred.
- The ability to travel.
