POSITION DESCRIPTION TITLE: Education Marketing and Communications LEVEL: Senior Specialist STATUS: Exempt DIRECT SUPERVISOR: Senior Director, Meeting Services POSITION DESCRIPTION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for providing advanced professional marketing and communications expertise for the ACR’s Education department activities, including the annual meeting. Includes ensuring a learner first mindset, alignment with overall ACR brand strategy; responsible for marketing communications and campaigns; developing and managing an annual editorial plan and reviewing all print/digital design efforts to ensure information is accurately communicated; and working collaboratively with internal staff to test strategies and drive the ACR’s education brand awareness and increase worldwide engagement across all relevant platforms. The position works collaboratively with the ACR communications and marketing department. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: - Serves as the primary Education Department liaison to the ACR Communications and Marketing Department handling marketing, communications, promotions for all Education Department activities including but not limited to meetings/events, online courses, content competitions and partners programs.
- Ensures Marketing & Communications plans and deliverables are documented and followed to generate engagement, promote attendee satisfaction, and aligns with the Colleges goals and image using input from Program Manager, Sr. Director Meeting Services etc. and provides clear timeline/deliverable due date information for Marketing Plans to project management as input to overall project schedules.
- Coordinates the development of and manages the implementation of a comprehensive marketing and communications plan to advance the ACR’s education department objectives
- Communicates with all stakeholders to understand and document the business objectives, ensuring a “learner first” mindset
- Collaborates with internal and external subject matter experts to define key messages and target audience(s)
- Responsible for collaborating as a cross-functional team both internal and external subject matter experts to define key messages
- Establishes, monitors and measures ROI on marketing efforts and provides analytical reports to key staff and leadership as appropriate to guide future efforts
- Research advanced marketing trends and strategies and recommends and advises on the use of technologies and vendors
- Implement strategies to ensure learners can easily discover content
- Establishes and monitors comprehensive processes to ensure a smooth flow of requests for graphic design, Web and communications and marketing services, and coordinating and managing all such communications and marketing aspects and details of a project from inception to completion
- Writes copy and provides editorial support, including crafting and editing publications, articles, reports, blast e-mails, social media posts, newsletter announcements, house ads and presentations.
- Reviews all designed pieces (including print and digital designs) to ensure consistency and adherence to style and established visual standards
- Applies in-depth professional, technical, or industry knowledge marketing practices to ensure all finished materials meet the project objectives, and are produced without errors, consistent with established brand guidelines
- Oversees production, fulfillment and inventory for all printed and electronic materials (including signage) related to Education Department programs including submitting tickets to Marcomm and other vendors/partners. Oversees and tracks ticket submissions to completion.
- Scope includes but is not limited to items such as: registration brochures, online meeting planners and agendas, post cards, videos, instructional videos, quick start guides, participant FAQ's, articles for The Rheumatologist and other publications, signage, program books, syllabi
- Support the ACR and ARP abstract selection process(es) by
- Developing copy and managing production of the ACR/ARP Call for Abstracts brochure as well as the Abstract Supplement with input from Program and Delivery Mgmt.
- Developing copy and working with the ACR Webmaster to ensure Web pages related to abstracts are updated and accurate.
- Work with publisher of the Arthritis & Rheumatology abstract supplement to coordinate production, publication, and promotion of supplement
- Writes copy and provides editorial support for swag/giveaways and gamification that meet Program Manager/Business owner goals and budget for the purposes of learner engagement. Work in conjunction with Meeting Services Coordinator and Sr. Specialist to implement.
- Working with Meeting Services Logistics, Content Delivery and Marketing Teams, facilitate the coordination of information, as it relates to logistics and logistics related vendors, to appropriate staff liaisons and learners - - convention centers, hotels, food and beverage vendors, security, social event sites, housing and registration companies, audio-visual services, WiFi, travel and car rental agencies, childcare agency, insurance companies, busing vendor, temporary staff and general contractor
- Coordinates the content of the learning center (product catalog) and learning activity web pages, to ensure it is accurate, timely and reflects the messaging hierarchy
- Prepares and manages budgets for projects within scope of work
- Some overnight travel as necessary to fulfill job responsibilities
