THE POSITION We are actively seeking an Associate Director, Education, who will be responsible for designing, developing and the operational delivery of ISPOR’s Education products. Responsibilities include the design and delivery of the attendee, instructor and volunteer experience and ensuring that ISPOR Education products create content in innovative ways in multiple formats. The Associate Director works collaboratively with internal cross functional teams and volunteer groups to achieve Education objectives, ISPOR’s strategic goals, attendee expectations, and financial targets. WHAT YOU WILL DO Short Course & Training Programs - Working with the Director, Global Events, contribute to the development, design, and delivery for ISPOR Short Course and Training programs.
- Develop and select Short Course and Training portfolio, working with both internal scientific staff and external Short Course and Education Committees. Establish clear and transparent criteria for the selection process working with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Working with the Director, Global Events, identify optimal delivery methods to maximize content impact and user engagement, including traditional and non-traditional learning formats, through in-person, virtual and hybrid learning models.
- In conjunction with the Exhibits & Partnerships team, develop training programs to meet sponsors’ learning requirements. Investigate new markets for HEOR training.
E-Learning - Working with Director, Global events to develop, implement and administer a new online e-Learning program.
- Works with faculty members to apply instructional design technologies/techniques to the organization and development of new course/learning materials.
- Build, maintain, and track all courses, materials, and events within the learning management system (LMS).
- Create and administer learning plans, curriculum, programs, and courses within the LMS.
- Define and develop progress reports for training market penetration and impact.
- Work with stakeholders to determine and define enhancements to the LMS environment and work with vendors to implement potential improvements.
E-Library - Working with Director, Global Events and others to develop, implement and administer ISPOR’s new e-Library product. The e-Library will be a content repository for all ISPOR content.
- In conjunction with ISPOR event content creators, work to ensure that all recorded content is delivered and available on e-Library within established timelines.
Overall - Develop Education products with collaboration from key stakeholders, with the optimal mix of content and delivery formats.
- Develop and lead execution of content development and delivery timelines that incorporate internal timelines (e.g., marketing requirements) and external deadlines (e.g., to secure subject matter expert participation and vendor deadlines).
- Continually assess, adjust, and redesign the overall learner experience to ensure that ISPOR is delivering innovative and effective ways to learn and interact, including management and development of content evaluation and user analytics.
- Maintains an up-to-date knowledge of trends and good practices particularly related to instructional design, adult learning, distance training, and content strategies. Serves as an in-house expert on instructional design methodologies.
- Works with Education staff and volunteer leadership to ensure the highest level of professional development for learners.
- Working with the Marketing/Communications staff develop effective campaigns to reach current and prospective registrants.
- Contribute to the development and alignment of ISPOR education and meeting content and overall program strategy, and business plans including development of budgets.
- Manage and mentor a professional staff in accordance with all employment policies and laws.
- Monitors the competition for educational programs and products in HEOR.
WHAT YOU MUST HAVE - Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s degree preferred
- 7+ years’ progressive work experience in similar role (instructional design, distance learning, training development, working with volunteers, attention to detail).
- Involvement and experience with scientific/association content preferred.
- Knowledge of healthcare, education and content delivery methods and knowledge of HEOR preferred.
- Experience in association short courses, training, and e-learning development strongly preferred. Familiarity with online content delivery platforms/learning management systems preferred.
- Budget management experience required.
- Prior experience managing staff preferred.
- Strategic and operational approach, strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Highly motivated, proactive, and problem solver.
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines, results oriented.
- Ability to manage data, and analysis data trends and statistics.
- Strong attention to detail.
OUR LOCATION Nestled half-way between Philadelphia and New York City, ISPOR’s headquarters is in Lawrenceville, New Jersey. Our staff is currently remote during the pandemic, however once safe, staff may begin returning to the office.
