For over 150 years, the American Correctional Association has championed the cause of corrections and correctional effectiveness. Founded in 1870 as the National Prison Association, ACA is the oldest association developed specifically for practitioners in the correctional profession.
Based in Alexandria, VA, the American Correctional Association is the oldest and largest national and international correction association in the world. ACA serves all disciplines within the corrections profession and is dedicated to excellence in every aspect of the field.
ACA represents everyone from wardens/superintendents to social workers and health care practitioners. All across the corrections spectrum, ACA is there bringing together corrections’ best. Our members represent federal, states and local entities including jails, prisons, penitentiaries, halfway houses, probation, parole and juvenile detention centers.
