General Description

This role will report directly to the Chief Revenue Officer and work to take the organization to the next level in marketing, sponsorship advertising and events. Immediate areas of focus will be on core process and revenue growth with membership, sponsorships and advertising.

 

This person will report to the CRO but will partner and work closely with the Senior Management Team, Government Relations Team, IFA Members, as well as board members and volunteer leaders to ensure that the growth objectives are aligned with the strategic direction of the organization.

 

Key areas of focus in the near term will be managing a core team but working cross functionally across departments, and focused on core revenue and operations including, sales, membership, sponsorships, exhibits, advertising, and marketing. Longer term, this role will support the CRO and the IFA leadership in growing non-member dues, strategic partnerships, new stakeholders and refined value proposition for IFA and its members or those directly impacted by franchising and the franchise business model. This role will also work with our Government Relations team and closely to align to communicate value and member content from a uniform voice, brand, content and communications and member value strategy which includes IFA advocacy as well as IFA business operations.

 

The position can be in person, based in Washington DC, or virtual/remote. No preference given to candidate location. Non-profit or for profit experience desired. For profit experience a plus, especially in franchisee or franchisor organizations.

 

KEY RESPONSBILITIES

  • Evaluate and help define the optimal operating model and structure in concert with the Chief Revenue Officer that effectively supports current needs and is scalable to allow for growth including expanded process, operations and KPI tracking for the organization.
  • Expand and execute on current processes for the business organization, including a robust data and member tracking in our CRM, and metric driven ROI of our business functions and sales capabilities
  • Proactively manage a team and an organization undergoing transformation, change and restructurings in the prior and current years.
  • Develop and execute on a cohesive reorganized and realigned sales and marketing strategy in concert with the CRO, and execute with the team to align around membership, sponsorships, exhibits, advertising and preferred vendor relationships
  • Oversee partnerships including preferred vendor, tradeout partnerships including new partnership opportunities, contract negotiation and execution of deliverables across the IFA.
  • Expand and execute on value proposition of the IFA, including updated member value content and marketing, creation of a membership engagement strategy including key touch points in the membership journey for all stakeholders.
  • Provide oversight and strategic direction on sales driving activities and membership engagement and communications including technology and IFA’s digital ecosystem as it develops
  • Grow association revenue including membership, events, advertising and new non dues revenue opportunities in a longer term state.

 

IDEAL EXPERIENCE

  • At least 8-10 years of professional experience in a commercial or non profit environment in an operational or growth driving capacity with proven and tangible results
  • Track record of revenue growth and operational excellence with long term positive outcomes
  • Experience selling to and working with various internal and external stakeholders and constituents from customers, to senior leadership to support teams
  • Both strategic and operational executor. The ability to see the vision, strategy and align the team on tactics, an execution plan and KPIs, and drive the team towards change and accountability.
  • Strong capabilities in training and mentoring teams in new ways of execution and growth
