The American Urological Association (AUA), the premier urologic association providing support to the urologic community, is currently searching for an energetic, detail-oriented candidate for our Member Services Associate, Operations side position located in our Linthicum, Maryland office.
This position is an entry-level Member Services position would be responsible for maintaining the integrity of the association management database, membership application processing, and filing. Serves as primary membership agent for communications via mail, e-mail, telephone, fax, and written correspondence to our members and non-members. Provides timely responses to members regarding missing issues for the Journal of Urology, Urology Practice Journal and AUA NEWS. Assist with the billing and collection of membership dues. Provides administrative support and coordination of department activities to include list fulfillment and distribution of mass communications.
The individual in this position will, but not limited to:
Maintains integrity of association management database to include address updates, creation of new records, updates to practice management records and list reconciliation, and clean up.
Provides support to the department’s service activities to ensure accurate, timely, and professional communication to members, non-members, and match registrants. Processes membership applications, fulfillment of application requests, and proper electronic file maintenance. Fulfills and mails new member kits in a timely manner.
Provides assistance with the billing and collection of membership dues.
Provides timely responses to members regarding missing issues for the Journal of Urology, Urology Practice Journal and AUA NEWS.
Creates/updates Standard Operation Procedures relevant to department processes and functions.
Enters data into the association management system (association management database) to create and maintain database records; includes maintaining address updates, e-mail changes to the database for members and non-members.
Provides database support to residency programs and projects from other departments.
Assists with list reconciliation from other departments and data clean-up projects.
Serves as primary membership agent in responding to mainline or answering department telephone line to address questions, provide information, or redirects calls to the appropriate department or individual.
Distributes e-mails from the department membership e-mail address to the appropriate staff person in a timely and professional manner.
Communicates with all members, customers, and match applicants via phone, fax, e-mail, and written correspondence to resolve problems and gather information. Also includes reaching out to delinquent members regarding their dues payments.
Processes membership applications as assigned, including individual and group membership, and ensures that all membership requirements and application criteria are met. This includes follow-up via phone, e-mail, and fax to ensure submission of all ancillary materials to accompany the membership application.
Creates electronic member files for all letters and documents, and ensures that all electronic member files are maintained in good order and easily accessible.
Updates member records monthly after each approval process.

High School diploma required, AA preferred.
