Work with executive director on all aspects of organizational strategic planning and goal setting.
Directly interface with and offer guidance to Board of Directors and other member leaders on strategic issues, programs and activities.
Provide thoughtful, reasoned, objective analysis of issues to Board of Directors, leaders, executive director and management team to assist in the decision-making process. Create or find solutions to achieve the strategic priories of NATA.
Provide leadership to directors and employees in the Member Services & Business
Development, Knowledge Initiatives and Public Relations & Marketing departments, including guidance to directors in the creation and execution of overall short- and long-term departmental strategies.
Identify potential strategic opportunities to advance the profession and work with appropriate staff to evaluate and implement programs.
Develop and nurture relationships with important stakeholder organizations and agencies that can assist NATA in achieving its goals.
Be a credible, reliable advocate of athletic trainers and the profession.
Provide leadership and support of internal and external association policies. Ensure cohesive, consistent branding and messaging of the athletic training profession.
Ensure sound financial management (including budgeting, forecasting and reporting) of all departments in portfolio.

We are seeking a new associate executive director (AED) with at least five years of experience as an association executive. This position will work in coordination with the executive director. The AED will use their knowledge and expertise to provide the analysis for, creation and implementation of national strategies and programs. This position directly oversees departments that are responsible for NATA’s marketing, communications, and public relations, knowledge initiatives, and member services departments in order to demonstrate the value of membership, athletic trainers and the athletic training profession. The ideal candidate will offer staff and departmental mentoring and management to ensure NATA financial, personnel, and operations related policies are followed.
Qualified candidates must be able to present examples of evaluating and executing programming as it relates to strategic goals as well as illustrate a successful history of financial and personnel management.
