The Association of Molecular Pathology (AMP), a non-profit medical professional association is in search of a Project Manager, Clinical and Scientific Affairs. The AMP Project Manager, Clinical and Scientific Affairs coordinates and manages multiple and diverse programs in the scientific and clinical strategic areas to benefit the AMP membership and further AMP’s mission. Reports to the Director, Clinical and Scientific Affairs.
Manages conference calls, meetings, and projects of the IIPC Program Area, its Committees, Scientific Subdivisions, and working groups as directed.
Manages scientific collaborations with entities outside of AMP (e.g., other professional associations).
Provides support and project management for the development of manuscripts, often with collaborating organizations.
Maintains IIPC program metrics and project-specific management information (e.g., timelines, Gantt charts, etc.).
Writes content for the AMP member newsletter and the website.
Other duties as assigned.
Excellent conceptual, analytical and project management skills.
Ability to manage multiple complex to simple projects (both large scale and small scale) with minimal supervision.
Ability to identify issues, impacts, and implications of events to a project and recommend solutions.
Highly organized, including excellent time management and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
Strong interpersonal skills to relate to different people with a variety of backgrounds, personalities, and learning styles; and, establish and maintain positive working relationships with others both internally and externally.
Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions that enhance organizational effectiveness.
Strong MS Office skills; project management and bibliography software experience a plus.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree required; degree in life sciences preferred.
Minimum of three years previous experience relevant to the responsibilities for this position required.
Administrative experience a plus, particularly in health / scientific associations.

This position requires sitting, standing and walking for a full work day.
Extensive use of computer keyboard, mouse and monitor.
Move throughout various offices.
Routinely lift objects less than 10 lbs; occasionally lifts objects up to 25 lbs.
Work is primarily performed in the AMP office.
Overnight travel to the annual meeting (up to 7 consecutive days) required; possible overnight travel to 1-2 other meetings (up to 3 consecutive days); inclusion of weekends may be involved.
