The American Dental Education Association (ADEA) is seeking to add an experienced Digital Marketing and Community Manager to our team of high-performing professionals.
In this position, you will manage, maintain and streamline existing social media and email activity and develop digital strategy and content for a variety of mediums and audiences in line with the organization’s communications and membership priorities and goals.
Manages ADEA and ADEAGoDental social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube) and monitors and makes recommendations for all ADEA-related social media activity.
Develops and implements overarching digital strategy and approach for various social media platforms.
Analyzes and reports on social media activity and makes data-driven recommendations around existing and future content and platforms.
Collaborates within the department and across the organization to monitor social media activity, set key performance indicators and reach growth and engagement targets.
Streamlines and maintains digital content calendars.
Develops digital assets in line with communications priorities and marketing plans, including creative designs, carousel and skyscraper ads, html email templates, video, infographics, etc.
Writes digital ad copy.
Drafts copy for, creates and deploys monthly e-newsletters and weekly promotional emails.
Drafts social media posts, builds out email and online campaigns, analyzes activity and makes data-supported recommendations and adjustments.
Edits and captions videos for use in marketing and social media efforts.
Manages social media activity for in-person and online events, including live tweets, scheduled posts, monitoring and engagement.
Monitors social media activity of ADEA Student Chapters and provides support as needed.
Responds to direct messages, monitors activity and engagement with member institutions and other key groups.
Uploads webinars and recordings and promotional videos to YouTube and ensures YouTube profiles feature up-to-date videos.
Works with external vendors on graphics development, social media and lead generation campaigns.
Monitors Google Alerts, Talkwalker and other media monitoring platforms for mentions of ADEA and topics related to dental education and organizational priorities; shares with internal stakeholders and/or posts as appropriate.
Participates and collaborates with colleagues in the implementation and ongoing monitoring of online communities.
Fosters strong online communities with standards, content and approach in line with ADEA communications goals and social media policies.
Partners with Informz/Higher Logic for email troubleshooting, template updates, campaigns support and ADEA Connect community communications and monitoring; makes recommendations and trains staff as needed.
Provides recommendations for updates to social media policies and guidelines; provides guidance to staff.
Keeps abreast of developments, resources, social media and digital trends.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in digital media, communications, marketing or a liberal arts field required.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing social media (including content development and strategy, scheduling, reporting) within a communications/marketing professional setting.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience with major social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.) including posting, monitoring and reporting tools.
Video editing/production experience required.
Demonstrated ability to think strategically and creatively while detail and deadline focused.
Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention-to-detail, writing and organizational skills required.
Ability to synthesize information for reporting and make recommendations.
Proficiency with HTML, Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite.
Familiarity and experience with content management systems, association management systems and email marketing platforms (preferably Ektron, Association Anywhere and Informz, respectively).
Experience with Higher Logic or similar online community platform is preferred.
Desire to learn more about new community platforms and online communications strategies to meet organizational priorities.
