The Grant Development Manager is responsible for the development and management of industry grant relationships for the Society. This position requires an organized and responsible individual who excels at building relationships with funders and their program officers, conducting prospect research, reviewing and editing proposals and monitoring outcomes of grant fulfillment.
The Grant Development Manager will work with Society stakeholders within Education, Quality and Research, and other relevant areas, to identify opportunities, develop proposals and budgets and submit grant applications. He/she will build on existing relationships with industry as well as develop new relationships. Affiliated tasks include research, prospecting, project management and reporting.
The Grant Development Manager is ultimately responsible for building a successful grant program for the Society to secure financial support from industry for programs and initiatives critical to our mission.
Manage all aspects from beginning to end of grant process to include prospecting, identification, evaluation, proposal development (supported by grant writers), and submission.
Manage process to include internal meetings, phone calls with funders, create timelines and summary reports, and monitor outcomes and budgets.
Collaborate and communicate effectively with Society stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
Maintain thorough and constant knowledge of the Society initiatives and programs in order to identify and develop relevant grant opportunities.
Own strategy and create processes for the Society’s grant program.
Professionally and effectively represent the Society to external organizations including funding sources.
Prepare and deliver communications and/or presentations.
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related field required. Advanced degree a plus.
Minimum 5 years grant development/corporate relations experience required.
Proven ability to research, prospect, analyze information, and present findings in a clear and inspiring manner required.
Association, not-for-profit and/or healthcare experience a plus.
Communications, journalism, or marketing experience a plus.
