The Director of Certification Programs position will collaborate with internal and external resources to develop, enhance, administer, promote and grow the RIMS' certification programs.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Director will be responsible for:
Planning & Development
Develop strategy and maintain an on-going business plan for RIMS' certification programs.
Work with certification specialist vendor, and subject matter experts to create comprehensive programs and assessments.
Oversee the development and administration of recertification guidelines and specifications.
Contract with subject matter experts to develop certification testing resources.
Manage test development procedures and protocols to ensure compliance with ANSI/ISO 17024 accreditation.
Create departmental budget requirements and monitor expenditures against approved budget.
Collaborate with Client Services Team to implement and maintain certification operational administration processes.
Develop and nurture mutual relationships with other associations, volunteers, vendors, certification professionals, recruiters, educational organizations, and risk management professionals to keep current on the latest trends and build awareness for the certification programs.
Serve as staff liaison to the RIMS Certification Commission that provides certification program oversight. Support the commission in planning the activities and carrying out the initiatives of the commission mandate.
Oversee certification development projects that involve subject matter experts and external certification specialists.
Work with internal resources on system integration, security standards, application processes, payment methodologies, database management, assessment delivery communications and test deployment.
Marketing and Communications
Collaborate with marketing resources on the development of domestic and international marketing campaigns.
Develop communication vehicles for chapter leaders to facilitate local awareness of chapter membership development and management.
Provide input on the product promotional material used to attract domestic and global target markets.
Data Management and Reporting
Collect and analyze data related to eligibility, recertification, continuing education and educational background.
Prepare written reports and present information on certification programs business area and operational activities.
Bachelor’s degree in any related field from an accredited institution.
Experience in professional certification development, and administration required.
Excellent interpersonal, written/verbal communications skills to work effectively independently or with people of diverse talent and background.
Work effectively both in a team setting, and independently, to manage concurrent processes and projects to meet established goals, deadlines and quality standards.
Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize and execute on simultaneous initiatives, while multi-tasking to meet individual and business area deadlines.
Ability to create and make effective presentations to stakeholder groups.
Proficiency with MS Suite, databases, spreadsheets, as well as research using the web.
Position requires up to 20 days of travel per year including industry conferences and RIMS related events.
