The chapter advancement manager is responsible for the successful development, implementation, evaluation and improvement to AMTA chapter volunteer operations. This position will focus on policy, procedure and training and development related to those functions. This is to be achieved through onsite and virtual trainings for chapter volunteers; by providing general association management assistance and consultation; enhancing volunteer recruitment and retention of qualified volunteers; assisting chapter volunteers in accessing online trainings, information and national staff support by connecting appropriate resources and championing best practices across AMTA.
Becomes viewed as a key resource by all chapter presidents, board members and other chapter volunteers by developing and fostering relationships with volunteers at all levels within the chapters;
Provides strategic direction in alignment with AMTA bylaws and national programs by assisting in the development of comprehensive plans for annual and multi-year programming for each chapter that aims at helping members experience a high value of AMTA membership locally. Ensures these plans are developed with coordination among other departments as needed (e.g., Knowledge Transfer, Finance, Industry & Government Relations);
Conduct face-to-face and virtual trainings to improve chapter operations by reinforcing AMTA best practices, offering assessments to benchmark current practices and assisting the chapters in identifying and addressing areas for desired improvement through planning, budgeting leadership development and culture alignment;
Raises the awareness of training materials and connects volunteers with appropriate national office staff and chapter volunteer leaders based on specific needs;
Promotes a positive and productive culture through appropriate dialogue among the chapters, national volunteers and the national office staff;
Serve as a resource for governance questions, AMTA reporting requirements, education and communications programming.
Attends national AMTA meetings as directed;
In collaboration with their supervisor, coordinates an extensive travel schedule in which, at a minimum, this position will be expected to have face to face contact with each AMTA chapter over a rolling 24 month period;
Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
Five years experience with membership organizations and volunteers is required;
Five years experience in developing and conducting virtual and onsite trainings;
Five years or more experience in a project management-related position at multiple onsite locations required;
Computer Literacy, specifically MS Office Suite;
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a business-related discipline preferred;
Social media exposure is preferred.
Comments: This position will require some evening and weekend work. Must have the ability to travel extensively.
