Development and Foundation, Executive Director/CEO, Other
American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) has a wonderful opportunity for an Executive Director of the AHIMA Foundation.
The purpose of this position is to lead the fiscal, personnel, programmatic and strategic development issues and initiatives of the AHIMA Foundation (Foundation) to assure that activities are in alignment with the mission of the Foundation and AHIMA.
Make recommendations to the Foundation Board of Directors on fiscal, personnel, programmatic and strategic development issues and initiatives of the AHIMA Foundation (Foundation) to assure that activities are in alignment with the mission of the Foundation and AHIMA; Provide ongoing support and communications to the Foundation Board of Directors with responsibility for implementing policies and programs of the Foundation as determined by the Board in a timely and effective manner.
Develop and maintain a portfolio of research studies and facilitate the strategic development of the Foundation’s broader research efforts; Provide management and compliance oversight for all grants and contracts of the Foundation.
Represent the Foundation to key constituency groups supportive of the Foundation, including individual and corporate donors, government agencies, AHIMA component state associations, AHIMA members, and other related stakeholders.
Develop and manage the Foundation’s long term financial goals and strategies, including, coordinating annual budget planning with the appropriate Board committees and in accordance with AHIMA’s budget process; Develop and monitor program and financial performance measures in cooperation with the Foundation Board.
Provide strategic direction and management oversight to AHIMA’s public relations, marketing and communications business units related to integral Foundation products such as, the AHIMA Foundation’s Annual Report, Foundation’s 508-certified Web presence, and all print communications disseminating the Foundation’s work and mission.
Oversee solicitation of individual gifts and annual giving to support the Foundation’s student merit scholarship program and other fundraising activities.
Doctorate or Masters-prepared in a relevant field related to primary responsibilities of fundraising, grant management and research project oversight
5 to10 year plus track record developing and managing research and evaluation projects, obtaining grant funding, managing budgets, supervising junior research staff, and directing national-scale grant projects
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; strong presentation skills
Proven record of successful fundraising including individual and corporate giving
Five or more years experience at a senior level leading a foundation or equivalent with multiple programmatic initiatives
